This is a tour of its kind and a first in Oman. The tour is dedicated to tasting some of the delicious Omani food, which is extremely varied and rich. It will also bring you close to the influence behind Omani food and learning in terms of culture, lifestyle and ingredients without skipping a visit to Muscat main attractions.
Begin your journey with Omani style authentic breakfast at a restaurant which has an authentic design and decoration of an old Omani mud house. You will be served a varied platter of many dishes to try out so you can get to know and taste everything that is there to be offered and feel full for the activities to follow.
After breakfast, you will be driven to the Sultan Grand Mosque. To witness it’s magnificent and popularity as being the top visited attraction in Oman. After that a stop at the fish market of Muttrah so you will get to see different types of seafood and why it is a big part of Omani meals.
Then we will head towards the main draw of Muttrah, the ever bustling Muttrah Souk (aka Dark Market). This is Muscat at its most magical: an absorbing labyrinth of narrow, perfume-laden alleyways packed with colourful little shops stacked high with tubs of frankincense and bukhoor, old silver khanjars, Bedu jewellery and other exotic paraphernalia – one of the few markets in the world where it’s possible to buy gold, frankincense and myrrh all under a single roof.
From Muttrah market we will take a short ride to see the Sultan Palace (Al Alam Palace) plus the twin ancient forts of Jalali and Mirani.
Finally, you will enjoy the lunch at one of the famous Omani restaurant with a twist of modern and international touches to the food, from there you can witness how world cuisines are evolving towards the future, and you will end your food festival tour with an Omani coffee and some delectable Omani dates.

Tour Reviews
We did the food tour in December 2018 and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food and wants to get to know local markets and cuisine.
the guide picked us up at our hotel and took us to really lovely local restaurants places which we would never have found on our own. we were the only tourists there in a very busy and popular restaurants with pax of local people.
We also got to know a lot about Muscat’s history as well as local customs and the people of Oman.
